This position will deliver against current and new initiatives to support our Enterprise Crisis Management mandate by ensuring that specific goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives through technology solutions. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.The incumbent is responsible, through independent contribution, collaboration with our various business partners (Enterprise Crisis Management, Operational Resilience, Global Banking & Markets, Global Risk, Disaster Recovery, Third Party Risk Management and third-party vendor) and the management/supervision of Senior Manager, on the design, development, integration, and implementation of Fusion Enterprise Framework Systems across the Enterprise level. The individual must thrive on challenge, be proactive and dynamic, and demonstrate initiative and eagerness to learn.Some of the key accountabilities include:

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Build best in class ETL solutions, and will be working closely with Product Owners, Developers, Scrum Masters, Project Management and Stakeholders.
  • Analyze highly complex business rules and logic and translating those into technical implementations.
  • Perform data wrangling to merge disjointed data sources and implement complex data transformation.
  • Develop ETL process using MS SQL Server BI stack, SQL Server Integration Services and MS Azure Data Factory to ingest, transform, cleanse and load data into on-prem SQL Server and/or Azure SQL DB
  • Design and implement complex ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory to efficiently ingest and transform data from multiple sources into Azure SQL Database.
  • Conduct source data analysis and profiling to complete source to target mapping.
  • Logical and physical data modeling to develop highly optimized data infrastructure for fast querying of large volume of data
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
  • Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.
  • Provide proactive support and maintenance to the existent ETL solutions to keep them at its best of quality.
  • Provides L2 production support investigations and resolutions. Take ownership of bugs, defects, enhancements, or any assignment from end to end.
  • Provide Production Support for BAU activities with stakeholders and vendor on issues support, maintenance & version upgrades etc.

What You Will Bring to SucceedMust Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required.
  • 5 – 10 years of experience in designing, developing, and deployment of large-scale data warehouse projects from end to end
  • Expert knowledge and hands on experience with SQL Scripting: 5 – 10 years
  • Expert knowledge working with SQL Server SSIS, Integration Services Catalog and project deployment – 5+ years.
  • Experience working with Agile methodology – 5+ years.
  • Experience working with BitBucket or TFS, and creating DevOps pipeline – 5+ years
  • Experience in Salesforce integration and configuration.
  • Working knowledge of dimensional data modeling methodology
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills
  • Power BI

Nice to Have

  • FI/Banking experience (North American Bank)
  • Previous experience in using the Fusion Risk Management System,
  • Experience working with data warehouse within Google Cloud Platform Degrees or certifications.
  • Have worked on either one of the following projects – Operational resilience, Disaster Recovery, Crisis and incident Management, Third Party Risk Management.
