Osler’s emergency departments are among the busiest in Canada and its labor and delivery program is one of the largest in the provinceJob Description:Working on assigned shifts, you will work full time shifts providing proactive and reactive security patrols and response to incidents. You will be required to write reports and investigate routine incidents, as well as respond to coded emergencies in a quick and efficient manner. You should display excellent customer service skills and be able to work with people who are under stress or in need of medical assistance. In this role, it is essential that you are physically fit and able to stand and walk for long periods of time.Job Responsibilities:

• Must have strong customer service and verbal communication skills
• Requires active patrolling of designated zone and is not a seated position
• Fixed position in ED Triage providing continuous crowd control and patient flow
• Primary responsibility is to ensure the visiting policy is strictly enforced.
• Liaison between ER clinical staff, physicians and Echo 8 guard.
• Assist physician/staff when requested (patient/visitor management)
• Escalating safety risks/hazards to the clinical team
• Report any suspicious activity/behaviors or concerns to the clinical staff immediately
• Must remain in the ED Triage to provide support
• Visitor Management System monitoring (as implemented)
• Attend calls as dispatched

Qualifications:

• Minimum of one year of experience in a security or related role is required
• A Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• A WSIB Approved First Aid/CPR Level C
• Proficient in English (both oral and written)
• Vulnerable Sector Check
• COVID Double Vaccination
• Immunization Record (MMR – Measles Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, TB)
• Customer Service Experience
