Due to our continued growth we are now recruiting for a EV Homologation Engineer to be based at our clients site in Gaydon.Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast-growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery.Scope of the Role:The EV Homologation Engineer will be responsible for detailed understanding of current and future BEV Efficiency certification in major and developing markets.Dimension of Function:Engineering, Research and Development (ER&D) is a growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on projects and programmes for our clients. The SME will work with the wider PED team and other teams in the business to create a detailed understanding of current and future certification landscape and develop tools and processes.Contacts:ER&D Core, Customer interfaces- Vehicle Engineering/Attributes/CoCs/Launch/Prototype/Validation/IoPD/SME’s and Tech Experts/Internal & external legislation, homologation & Certification agencies or Govt. departments.Areas of Responsibility:This position is responsible for planning and delivery of BEV Certification Landscape in the PED area. You will have responsibility for:· Be Responsible for detailed understanding of current and future BEV Efficiency certification in major and developing markets· Lead the creation and continuous improvement of certification Data Handling process and tools.· Have Close interaction with compliance, legislation and certification teams· Identifying risks and opportunities in a robust data-driven manner with the purpose of informing and influencing business decisions and engineering direction related to BEV Certification· Use knowledge of points above to bring points/issues/resolutions to relevant sessions.· Report out daily/weekly/monthly summary reports to Senior stakeholders· Significant experience in creation and improvement of use of engineering & data handling tools, processes and problem resolution.Skills:Must have:· Strong technical engineering background with evidence of a methodical, structured approach to problem solving· Strong communication skills and team work – ability to work cross functionally with a wide range of customers at all levels· Knowledge of vehicle efficiency EV certification methods, processes, and implementation (WLTP, EPA NAS, CLTC, UN ECE, as a minimum)Knowledge / Experience:Essential:· Engineering qualification (academic or vocational) in:- Engineering, Pure sciences.· with a minimum of 5 years of relevant industrial experience.· Strong foundation Knowledge of legislative cycles and regulations related to EV range homologation (WLTP GTR15, EPA 5-Cycle CFR 40 Part 600, CLTC GBT 18386.1-2021, UNECE R101, R154, R83, etc)· Strong knowledge of the mathematics needed to get to the efficiency/EV range declaration process of different legislation process globally (WLTP & EPA NAS critical)· Experience of interfacing with multiple stakeholder involved in BEV range homologation process· Knowledge and working understanding of data processes and exchanges that is involved across different teams to get to range / efficiency declaration· Strong technical engineering background with evidence of a methodical, structured approach to problem solving· Good communication skills, with the ability to simplify and articulate complex technical subject matters· Data handling tools, Python, 1-D simulation etc· PC Literacy: Excellent Microsoft Outlook, Power Point, Excel, Word, Data handling tools, Python, 1-D simulation etc skillsPreferred:· Knowledge and/or experience of component/rig testing methodologies related to vehicle efficiency.· Experience in use of JIRA or similar task management platform.· Resilient and enthusiastic, an individual able to deliver results under pressure, whilst responding constructively to challenging new ideas and inputs.· A passion for the automotive industry and the potential of automotive technology.Competences:Customer Centricity – Ensures the delivery of exceptional customer service.Decision Making – Identifies and analyses information to make decisions and solve problems.Teamwork & Collaboration – Fosters a sense of teamwork, leverages differences, and facilitates the effective interaction and contribution of others to achieve goals.Developing & Managing Relationships – Develops and maintains constructive, open and honest relationships with others.Drive for Results – Demonstrates and fosters a sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals.In return for bringing your expertise to our business we offer a competitive salary along with excellent benefits including:· Pension Scheme – We match employee contribution up to 5% of salary· 25 Days’ Holiday· Private Health Care· Tata Jaguar Land Rover Privilege Scheme – up to 20% off new JLR vehicles· Group Income Protection· Health Assured – Employee Assistance Program· Group Life Assurance· Childcare Vouchers· Health Shield – Private Health Cash PlanIf you are passionate about bringing innovation to the projects you work on and want to join a global company, then this is the place for you.Tata Technologies: Engineering a better world.Tata Technologies would like to thank all applicants for their interest, each application will be reviewed against the set criteria for the role.
