Do you want to play a key role in delivering collaborative research between academia and industry? Do you have proven experience of working with Scanning Electron Microscopy and X Ray Micro-Computed Tomography?The School of Civil Engineering houses the (CIM), which is part of the UK Collaboratorium for Research on Infrastructure and Cities . This Centre has state of the art facilities for the assessment and monitoring of the long-term performance of a range of construction materials, (e.g. cement, concrete, steel) in controlled and simulated environments. These facilities are key to achieve part of Centre’s aim, which is provide to the academic and industrial communities access to premium facilities for the testing of infrastructure materials at different scales (from micro to macro). The University also hosts the , which aims to provide world-leading experimental and analytical facilities to understand and build materials from the atomic to the macro-scale.As the Experimental Officer for CIM you will support its Director, in managing aspects of the Centre and its facilities with the objective to increase our research capabilities, developing new and exciting research projects and collaborations, initially with researchers across the University, other UKCRIC partner institutions, and with industry. You will also be engaging with activities in the Bragg Centre for Materials Research, to expand their experimental and analytical facilities and provide further support to investigate a diverse range of materials at the micro-scale.This role will be based at the university of Leeds campus and there is scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner.
