This is an 8-month internship and is based out of our Dressing’s factory in Rexdale, Ontario (195 Belfield Rd, Etobicoke, ON, M9W 1G8).

The ideal candidate would be working towards a university-level engineering degree in mechanical engineering, Mechatronics or B-Tech Automation field. The role requires supporting the engineering department in various Capital, Category and Digitalization projects. Moreover, the candidate would work closely with cross functional departments and plant staff in creating and deploying various projects. This is an on-site role at a Manufacturing facility, candidate needs to hold Safety and Quality at the utmost importance.

Who You Are & What You’ll Do

• Experience working in a Manufacturing Environment

• Maintain a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.

• Asset in Project Management and coordination activities – ordering technical equipment, coordinating shop drawings and transmittals to clients, create building material lists for projects, coordinate trade contractors on-site, maintain project documentation

• Be extremely organized and communicate effectively with customers, peers, and reporting managers.

• AutoCAD and Microsoft Office experience is a plus

• Commissioning, training, and documentation of projects

• Strong analytic skills and data centric mindset

• Strong verbal and oral communication, and ability to make presentations and reports

• Ability to work Individually and within a team environment

The purpose of the Intern Program is to introduce you to Unilever through a challenging and rewarding experience, which offers you the opportunity to lead a project and build your knowledge.

During your 6-month internship, you will develop your leadership style and strengthen your analytical skills.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• 3rd or 4th year Chemical Engineering, Automation, Biology, or Chemistry Student

• Can work with minimal supervision and an initiator.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and Power Apps.

• Related experience in a technical / manufacturing environment is an asset but not required.

• Able to contribute to a team-oriented environment and possess strong interpersonal skills.

• Safety and Quality minded.
