St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is seeking MD or DO radiologists, neuroradiologists, and nuclear medicine physicians for available full-time faculty positions in the Department of Diagnostic Imaging.
Body radiologists should be ABR certified or ABR eligible. Subspecialty fellowship training in Pediatric Radiology or Oncologic Imaging and a CAQ in Pediatric Radiology is desirable.
Neuroradiologists should be board certified or eligible by the ABR and fellowship trained in neuroradiology or pediatric neuroradiology.
Nuclear Medicine physician applicants should be board certified or eligible with ABR or have board certification or eligibility by the ABNM.
All provider applicants must qualify for medical licensure in the State of Tennessee and must be eligible for a DEA license.
Teleradiology remote services are provided for after hours and weekends, with St. Jude radiologists providing back-up call on an as needed and rotating basis.
An ideal candidate will have a strong interest in pediatric oncologic imaging. Several career tracks are available including clinical, research and clinician-scientist. Interpersonal skills, a collaborative nature and clinical acumen are essential. Academic rank will depend on qualifications and experience.
There is a plethora of exceptional resources that SJCRH and the Department of Diagnostic Imaging have to offer including a team of biostatisticians dedicated to imaging research, our Scientific Editing service, state of the art imaging equipment (which include 3T and 1.5T MRI machines, PET imaging supported by an on-site cyclotron and dual-energy CT imaging etc.), a rapidly growing imaging post-processing lab (Vision Lab) staffed with dedicated post processing specialists, and a departmental team of experienced clinical research assistants, MR and IT scientists, medical physicists and a group of nationally and internationally renowned academic radiologists.
Clinical responsibilities include:
Provide diagnostic services interpreting body CT, MRI, ultrasound, DEXA, conventional radiographs, fluoroscopy.
Cardiac MRI and/or nuclear medicine skills are a plus but not required.
Prescribe examinations for body imaging procedures.
Provide direction to Diagnostic Imaging technologists regarding body imaging procedures, when needed.
Provide consultation services to clinical staff and faculty regarding indications for imaging procedures and interpretation of imaging procedures.
Participate in and present imaging in weekly multidisciplinary conferences.
Work with one or more Diagnostic Imaging faculty colleague in the reading room daily.
Participate in night/weekend call work rotation to provide back-up to after-hours imaging services when remote, teleradiology services are not possible (such as for fluoroscopy).
Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to perform/supervise and interpret diagnostic imaging procedures obtained on any age child and young adults.
The preferred candidate must have an MD, DO or equivalent degree, be board certified (or eligible) with ABR and fellowship trained. Applicants must qualify for medical licensure in the State of Tennessee.
