Internship Overview: The fully remote Community Engagement Intern plays an important role providing support to the Community Engagement team through assisting in the planning and execution of programs designed to increase community awareness and providing administrative and analytic support. The intern will work directly with the Volunteer and Intern Programs Coordinator to manage the volunteer and intern programs and engage the community in support of our programs and community events. The intern will help with the recruitment and onboarding of new volunteers/interns and facilitate trainings and ongoing learning opportunities for volunteers and interns. .
Time Commitment: Minimum 12 hours per week; August 23 – December 13, 2024. Weekly schedule to be determined by supervisor and intern – mostly during business hours, M-F 9 am – 5 pm but some independent evening and weekend hours can be arranged to fit intern’s schedule.

Duties:
Learning Objectives: The Community Engagement and Volunteer Program Intern will have the opportunity to learn about the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program and how services are delivered to refugees in Colorado. They will see firsthand how volunteers, interns and community partners are vital to the resettlement process and to achieving the goals of resettlement. The intern will gain knowledge about managing a large volunteer and intern program, including recruitment, training and ongoing support.

Undergraduate, Graduate, or recently graduated student in an institution of higher learning
Ability to work independently and proactively
Strong writing and communication skills
Experience speaking and presenting to groups
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to effectively work with diverse stakeholders (volunteers, clients, staff, community partners)
