School website:SummaryThe Governing Body and Headteacher of West Lancashire Community High School are currently inviting applications for a Family Support Worker. We are seeking to appoint a calm, positive and nurturing person to lead on day to day family support and deliver pastoral interventions to identified children and young adults. This role will include liaising with the Senior Leadership team and class teams across the school.West Lancashire Community High School is a vibrant generic learning difficulties school and has recently been inspected by Ofsted and we continue to be rated as good. Our students all have an Education Health Care Plan. We currently have 150 students on roll, students are aged between 11 and 19 years, with an expansion to 180 students over the coming year.This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference, to take a lead role in providing a personalised, student centred and whole family focussed response to meeting the needs of our children, young people and families, ensuring they sustain good attendance and thrive in school.Please note that in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024, an online search will be carried out as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates.Please note CVs are not accepted, to apply for this vacancy you need to complete the application form attached.Please note that this vacancy closes at 9am on 27/09/2024Essential Qualifications

- Professional/academic level 3 qualification or equivalent or substantial experience in a relevant technical, specialised or operational field.

- Experience of, or the ability to demonstrate the competence to work directly with individual children, young people and families to identify and assess their needs and make appropriate planned responses to improve outcomes.
Desirable Experience
- Experience of working with a wide range of other professionals to develop and deliver shared initiatives for children, young people and families.
