About the role
We have a fantastic opportunity to join our small team dedicated to conserving and protecting
East Devon’s National Landscape and developing and delivering projects that support
communities, nature, farming, climate, access, diversity and inclusion. In this FiPL role, you
will build collaborative relationships with the farming community across our district in order
to develop and implement capital projects that deliver the FiPL programme outcomes and support
objectives in the wider National Landscape Management Plan. You will also work in partnerships
with our strong network of collaborates to provide advice and guidance to landowners and land
managers on how to access and benefit from the Environmental Land Management Scheme and other
farm payment options.
About you
With demonstratable experience working in partnership with farmers, landowners and land
managers to deliver shared outcomes, you will have a strong working knowledge of current
agri-environment schemes, rural communities and the farming sector. Ideally with specific
knowledge of agricultural communities and farming found in East Devon.
Self-driven and proactive, your track record of developing and delivering projects on
third-party farmland in partnership with landowners and land managers, whether in a leading or
supporting role will underpin your ability to evidence clear actions taken to restore UK
wildlife, as well as clear outcomes from monitoring and evaluation.
Experience supervising volunteers and contractors would be an advantage. A valid driving
license to facilitate travel throughout the district is essential (reasonable adjustments may
be possible in accordance with the Equality Act).
About us
Our recent Local Government Association Peer Challenge highlighted that ‘EDDC is a great place
to work, with engaged staff and members’ and that’s certainly true! You will be part of a Gold
Investors in People (IiP) organisation which works together with local people to create great
value services and an outstanding community, economy and environment in which people want to
live, work, visit and enjoy now, and for future generations. And with our wide range of health
and wellbeing benefits, our highly flexible and collaborative hybrid Worksmart working
arrangements as well as our commitment to continuous learning and development, you can be
confident of joining a dedicated community of colleagues who are Happy, Healthy and Here.
