, creators of Cluny Bistro, El Catrin, Pure Spirits Oyster House & Grill, Archeo Trattoria, Madrina Bar y Tapas, District Pizza and Distillery Events (the Fermenting Cellar and The Distillery District®- Loft) is looking for a Festivals and Site Activations Assistant Manager with a “can-do” attitude to assist in hosting our festivals and site activations at The Distillery Historic District throughout the year (Distillery Winter Village, Whiskey Fest, Picks n Bricks, Inclucity Film Festival, etc.).The successful candidate will be assisting with all aspects of outdoor events and activations on site, from the implementation, production and overall coordination and profitability of the operation.Basically, you will be assisting with the execution of much of our events and sponsorship strategy.We want to bring on someone who is eager to learn, work hard, and have fun. What you’ll be doing:

  • Assist in implementing an integrated plan for corporate partnerships to meet/exceed annual revenue targets for all festival and activations programming at the Distillery.
  • Communicate relevant information on area of subject matter expertise to the management team, partnership, internal and external stakeholders, sponsors, and advertisers.
  • Build and maintain current relationships with corporate sponsors and advertisers.
  • Assist in obtaining the required permitting for the events to take place at the Distillery District.
  • Answer queries regarding upcoming and ongoing festivals, and create a welcoming environment for employees and vendors.
  • Coordinate vendor bookings and assist the Manager of Events & Festival Planning and Operations with vendor relationships, payments and communication.
  • Arrange for site maintenance as required
  • Receive deliveries and invoices and double-check for accuracy
  • Ensure project deadlines are met alongside the Manager.
  • Create a project management calendar for fulfilling each goal and objective.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

You enjoy finding the things that aren’t working and find the path to turn it all around!THE ABILITY TO GET THINGS DONE. You have exceptional prioritizing skills. You also likely have a highly organized living space (perhaps you’ve asked for a label maker for your birthday at some point?) – you love being organized! To-Do Lists are your friends.EXPERIENCE. You have worked in a large-scale Event/Festival environment.EDUCATION. You have a degree/diploma in Events/Hospitality and/or the equivalent in education and experience.COMMUNICATION. You have excellent interpersonal skills, and outstanding verbal and written skills. You’re great at calling people in rather than calling them out. You believe in collaboration and inclusivity.CERTIFICATION. You hold a Smart Serve certification. Food Handler certification is nice to have too, but not required.A LOVE OF PEOPLE! Working Conditions:

  • During festivals/site activations, there can be frequent to constant periods of standing and walking outdoors.
  • At times of the year, frequent to constant periods of sitting and exposure to computer screens.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying up to 5 lbs.
  • Regular interruptions and multiple demands at the same time.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Indoor and outdoor work in all weather including snow, freezing conditions, rain, sun and hot summer temperatures.
