JOB DESCRIPTION

General Qualifications

University degree in Business Administration or Accounting/Finance equivalent to Master’s level of qualification, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
Minimum ten years’ experience in budget or financial procedures (proposal, approval, execution, year-end statements).
Experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) accounting system, preferably SAP.
Advanced knowledge and experience of accounting principles and processes.
Critical and analytical capabilities and effective communication skills.
Good writing skills.
Ability to deal effectively with personnel at all organisational levels.
Ability to facilitate/present persuasively to gain buy-in and effective negotiations skills to achieve desired outcomes.
Ability to multi-task, manage time and work effectively under pressure while producing high-quality products under short-notice deadlines.
Ability to develop resourceful and effective solutions to complex problems (including HR), ability to set performance goals and expectations, to develop policy and metrics, to measure performance and to engage problems early to mitigate risk and redirect performance.
Sound digital literacy with experience in using office automation systems and software applications, e.g. Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Specific Qualifications

Knowledge of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS).
Experience and knowledge of NATO structures and processe

LANGUAGE QUALIFICATIONS

NATO’s two official languages are English and French. The work of this post is mainly conducted in English, therefore fluency in that language is essential and working knowledge of French is desirable.

POST DETAILS

Basic monthly salary: EUR 10 603, 24 tax free.
