This role will see you working with primary and secondary schools, colleges, and universities to deliver curriculum-linked activities that will increase students understanding of nature and the environment.
Your day to day will include developing, planning, and delivering courses in outdoor teaching sites to students on science and geography school trips. This will involve leading groups of all abilities in the local environment, ensuring you always have the health and safety of the group in mind.
When you are not working in the field, you will also be happy to contribute to other aspects of working in a busy education centre. This is a very active role, some weeks will be long and tiring, but our tutors find this work very rewarding, and we promise you will too!

Flatford Mill was our very first field study centre in the UK, where outdoor learning began, set in the heart of the Dedham Vale National Landscape. Picture starting your day beside the River Stour, surrounded by the classic English countryside that inspired John Constable.
With riverside habitats, ancient woodland, lakeside margins and open grassland all within our 7‑hectare grounds, the landscape becomes your living classroom. Wildlife is part of everyday life here: kingfishers along the river, barn owls over the fields, dragonflies over the ponds, and even otters in the waterways.

You will have a degree or equivalent in a relevant subject and some previous experience of teaching or tutoring. You will also be confident with producing and preparing various learning resources. In addition, you will have:
