An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly team at our Field Studies Centre in
North Yorkshire. The role will offer the right candidate a fantastic opportunity to provide
fieldwork teaching for students of all ages and backgrounds in amazing places of natural wonder
and beauty.

The Job
The Tutor will take a full and active role in the tutoring of all student groups and will be
required to teach on all educational courses, at all levels, from KS2 Environmental Studies to
A-level Geography and Biology. This is a post with a lot of variety and interest as the tutor
will be involved in both the planning and delivery of field studies days as well as developing
resources within the education department. You will also be spending the majority of your time
teaching a rich array of field courses in amazing environments that include the Flamborough
Heritage Coast and the North York Moors National Park.
The Educational Team
The tutor will be joining a highly motivated and close-knit team of 6 full time tutors and 1 part time tutor and will receive a very warm and genuine welcome. Around 50% of our courses are A-level
Geography with the remaining split into around 30% A-level Biology and 20% KS2 Junior
Environmental Studies. Private, off-site tutor accommodation is provided free of charge as part
of this role and it is expected the successful candidate will live full time in this

Qualifications and Experience

- The successful candidate will possess a good quality degree in Geography, Biology,
Environmental Sciences or similar discipline which included fieldwork. - They must be able to demonstrate a recent experience in teaching or working with young
people. This does not necessarily have to be in a school environment. - They must be enthusiastic, eager to learn and motivated to inspire young people in
Geography and Biology fieldwork, Environmental Studies and the outdoors. - Candidates will be expected to be proficient in the use of ICT and have some knowledge of
statistical techniques. - A teaching qualification or formal teaching experience is not essential but will be
considered a distinct advantage, as would knowledge of human geography, although this again is
not essential to being offered the post.
Start Date
We would be keen for the successful candidate to join us as soon as possible in order to be
able to participate in our summer fieldwork courses.
