What you’ll be doing
This role will see you working with primary and secondary schools, colleges, and universities to deliver curriculum-linked activities that will increase students understanding of nature and the environment.
Your day to day will include developing, planning, and delivering courses in outdoor teaching sites to students on science and geography school trips. This will involve leading groups of all abilities in the local environment, ensuring you always have the health and safety of the group in mind.
When you are not working in the field, you will also be happy to contribute to other aspects of working in a busy education centre. This is a very active role, some weeks will be long and tiring, but our tutors find this work very rewarding, and we promise you will too!

Where you’ll be based
Field Studies Council Margam Discovery Centre is a state-of-the-art, low-carbon building set within the 850-acre Margam Park, between Swansea and Cardiff. Surrounded by woodlands, ponds, streams, and open grassland, the park is alive with wildlife, from deer, foxes, and badgers to woodland and heathland birds, offering a truly inspiring setting for work and learning.
The centre itself is modern, welcoming, and designed to inspire, with versatile classrooms and accommodation for up to 140 residents. With Gŵyr National Landscape, the Heritage Coast, and Bannau Brycheiniog all within easy reach, Margam provides unrivalled access to some of Wales’ most diverse and stunning landscapes.
Who we’re looking for
You will have a degree or equivalent in a relevant subject and some previous experience of teaching or tutoring. You will also be confident with producing and preparing various learning resources. In addition, you will have:
