About the roleThe Finance Administrator will be responsible for administering all financial transactions within the department, ensuring they are processed promptly, accurately, and in accordance with UCL’s Financial Regulations.Additionally, the role includes assisting in the administration of data for research grant funding proposals by providing necessary figures and statistics.The Finance Administrator will support financial decision-making by generating reports and statistics and will serve as the first point of contact for general financial enquiries.About youWe would be delighted to receive applications from candidates with the following prerequisites:

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent relevant qualification or substantial experience in finance or accountancy
  • Knowledge of financial processes and regulations associated with general financial administration
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel and a good all-round knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with a commitment to customer focus, which enable the post holder to liaise and interact with a variety of people at all levels, both internal and external to the university
  • High level of numeracy, with the ability to understand and interpret a variety of figures and statistics, and deliver accurately against operational deadlines
  • Proven consistent ability to set and meet tight individual and organisational deadlines and to manage own workload through effective prioritising, time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to be discreet and maintain confidentiality while working under pressure and ensuring attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent analytical skills to be able to research, analyse and interpret information and in turn prepare, interpret and present accurate financial reports for a variety of uses and audiences
