Job description

A company in Erbil is seeking an experienced Finance and Accounting Manager who will be responsible for supervising daily bookkeeping tasks in addition to managing accounts payable, accounts receivables, end-of-month reporting and closures, financial reporting, audit preparation, and other related duties as assigned. The Finance and Accounting Manager will work closely with and report to Operations Manager.


Responsibilities: –

1. Manages company financial reporting (balance sheets, income statements, etc.) and oversees daily book-keeping activities.

2. Responsible for presenting and reporting accurate historical financial information, on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

3. Perform project finance calculations and cost control for the company’s projects.

4. Oversees all purchasing and payroll activities for staff.

5. Set up a financial management database and system (Quickbooks, SAP or equivalent), and train the company’s bookkeepers on this system. The candidate must have advanced skills in this software.

6. Provides timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts

7. Directs and oversees all aspects of the finance and accounting functions of the organization, including salaries, expenses, promotions, taxes, etc.

8. Provides executive lnanagelnent with advice on the financial implications of business activities and any associated risks.

9. Provides recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.

10. Play a key role in the company’s financial management in terms of cash allocation And expenditure planning and forecasting.

11. Develop break-even analysis models and create financial models for the company’s projects or business ventures.

12. Balances and audits all company finances, monitors all cash balances, loans, and banking activities, in conjunction with the company’s management.

13. Assists in decisions regarding employment, performance appraisals, training and development, salary recommendations, promotions, and transfers in conjunction with the Director of Human Resources and the company’s management.

14. Addresses issues regarding liquidity and financial contingencies. r Tracks all invoices and maintains a comprehensive and organized record and filing system.

15. Responsible for resolving all billing issues and acts as a liaison between business partners and the company’s management regarding financial matters.

16. Coordinates with all senior management to ensure all imported and exported goods and services are paid.

17. Takes on any other finance-related assignment assigned by the company’s management.


Requirements & Skills : –

1. Preferably a Bachelor’s degree in the field of finance and accounting

2. Advance skills in Quickbooks, SAP or equivalent software o Profound knowledge of GAAP or IFRS or equivalent international accounting and finance standards.

3. Minimum 6 years of active work experience in the field of finance.

4. In-depth knowledge of local and international financial practices

5. Strong command of Kurdish and English is a necessity, and Arabic is a plus.
