Role: Finance Assistant – Full Time, Permanent

Salary: £23,144 – £27,929 per annum, plus nationally agreed pay increases each year

Hours: 36.25 hours per week, Monday-Friday (flexible and hybrid working opportunities available)

How will you help us make a difference as a Finance Assistant?

You’ll join a team of experienced Finance Assistants within the Transactions Team who are committed to providing an efficient, effective, and comprehensive transaction service to the University and its customers. The Transactions team is organised into 4 flexible teams covering Fees, Credit Control, Accounts Payable and Cash & Banking.

As someone who is customer service focused with a calm and empathetic nature, you will provide a comprehensive service to our students by supporting them with queries and providing guidance/advice where required.

You will also have the opportunity to showcase your skills in finance and attention to detail, by adjusting and keeping accounts in order, processing student fee payments and managing student payment plans.

Although based in the Fees team, you’ll have the opportunity to work as a Finance Assistant alongside the other 3 teams to develop your skills and experience in these areas and offer support when required.

What we will need from you

  • Experience working in a Finance environment.
  • Comfortable and proficient in using excel, work and outlook.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Highly organised and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Flexible approach to work including the ability to work well within a team and support where required.

Good to have (but not essential)

  • Working knowledge of SITS and the Agresso system.
  • Experience working in Further/Higher Education or public sector.
