Finance Intern

About the role

Working as part of the finance team and reporting to the Finance and Support Services Officer this internship offers opportunity to acquire knowledge and gain further experience in financial management and accounting within an INGO.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong numeracy, accuracy and who enjoys finance and numbers to join the team on an internship and gain further experience within international development.

Key accountabilities but not limited to:

  • Processing vouchers and journals into Sun system
  • Prepare vouchers for bank and cash payments
  • Carry out petty cash and bank reconciliations
  • Prepare cheques and maintain the cheque register
  • Process payments to vendors, per diem and transportation for participants out in the field
  • Support and participate in the review of partners financial reports
  • Manage the logistics in preparation of activities and travel

About you

The ideal candidate will have an active interest in finance and accounting and looking to develop the skills and knowledge within the development sector. They will hold a qualification in finance or accounting or have previous work experience in a similar role. Strong Microsoft Excel working knowledge is desirable with good written and spoken English and French. Current and ongoing right to work in Cameroon is essential.

The deadline to apply for this internship is 10 March 2025 23.59 GMT UK.

This will be a one stage recruitment process. We intend to conduct face to face interviews at the Cameroon country office in Maroua from 24 March 2025 onwards. The interview will be on site and last up to 45 minutes.
