At GSK, we are using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to develop new therapies and personalized drugs that drive better outcomes for patients. We are also using AIML to revolutionize our Finance function – by harnessing financial data to improve decision making and to streamline operations.Working as part of GSK’s AIML Team – which operates like a start-up organization within GSK’s broader R&D function – you will have the opportunity to proactively identify and lead areas of improvement in Finance and in the R&D business – by leveraging the expertise of engineers in GSK’s AIML Team, as well as your own analytical capabilities.Current projects under development in this space include a portfolio simulation tool – facilitating the prioritization of £5+ billion of R&D projects aimed at discovering and developing new medicines. Other projects involve building a digital finance twin of GSK, as well as the use of LLMs and agents to streamline financial data analysis. But this is just the start. Your expertise and creativity will help to shape the AIML Finance agenda, and you will be at the forefront of redesigning how the company thinks about Finance as a function.As an experienced finance professional, you will also serve as the Finance Director of the AIML team – where you will be the finance partner for the SVP AIML, the AIML Leadership Team, and 180 FTEs working on AIML projects. The role will also report into VP Finance R&D Research Tech and will be a key member of that Leadership Team. The role will involve matrix accountabilities to maximize impact, within both the AIML team and the broader Finance function.The AIML Team is built on the principles of ownership, accountability, continuous development, and collaboration.   • A PhD or Masters in a quantitative or engineering discipline (e.g., finance, computer science, engineering, physics, maths, among others); OR equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated work experience in a relevant finance and machine learning position

Preferred Qualifications:If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Demonstrated programming expertise in Python and in developing and delivering robust software solutions
  • Keenness to learn fast in a new domain and to continuously develop your ML and software engineering skills
  • Proactive communication and problem-solving, and a proven ability to collaborate with colleagues of various backgrounds and levels of seniority.
