The Finance Treasury Assistant, as part of the Treasury team, supports the University’s funding and manages cash resources and banking. The role is a great introduction to a valuable finance career.

About the Role

Reporting to the Treasury Manager this post forms an integral part of the Treasury section and the post-holder will have a variety of responsibilities in this area.

The role requires excellent problem solving skills and an organised approach, together with highly effective communication skills and a specialist knowledge of banking systems and IT, particularly Excel. You will be required to promote and maintain a high quality service to departmental customers, whilst ensuring that the University’s financial procedures are followed at all times.

As the Treasury Function within the Finance Division also works closely with VAT, Tax, Insurance and Cashiers there will also be requirements to fulfil any obligations within these teams. You will need the ability to work efficiently and independently.

You will be based in Hythe Bridge Street but you may be able to agree a pattern of regular remote working with your line manager.

About You

You will need to be numerate, have good communication skills and be computer literate with Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, and either a banking or accounting qualifications (or be working towards them).

Experience within a Treasury function and in preparing cash forecasts and cash flow analysis would be beneficial and a knowledge of the financial markets and FX.

You should be confident to work independently and also be willing to work with others to support the team.
