Financial AnalystBurnaby, BCResponsibilities:
- Conduct financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and forecasting, to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, working closely with departmental managers to align financial goals with operational objectives.
- Monitor inventory balances and update mill operations software to support more accurate variance analysis.
- Maintain inventory item master attributes, including standard costs and bill of materials.
- Coordinate cycle count process and assist with inventory verification and analysis for quarter- and year-end audits.
- Analyze product-level profitability.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to track business performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Support the preparation of presentations and materials for senior management and board meetings, summarizing financial results, analyses, and recommendations.
- Assist with ad hoc financial projects and initiatives as assigned by management, leveraging analytical skills and business acumen to drive results.
- Carries out additional duties and projects as assigned.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) while performing job duties and tasks.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; CFA, CPA, or relevant professional certification preferred.
- 4+ years’ experience in financial analysis, planning, or related roles, preferably in the manufacturing or food industry.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling techniques; experience with Microsoft D365 – Finance & Operations and Power BI is an asset.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strategic mindset, with the ability to think critically and contribute to the achievement of organizational goals.
