The Foundation has restored sight to more than 3 million people worldwide. THE OPPORTUNITY
The Financial System and Data Analyst is accountable for the development, support and implementation of the Finance Transformation project as we reconsider, replace and/or upgrade ancillary and related systems, modules and functions used by The Fred Hollows Foundation to provide core reports and analytical insights. This includes being an integral member of the Planning Tool Replacement Project to deliver the best practice business planning and reporting solutions.
The Financial System and Data Analyst will also play a key role in handling ad-hoc reporting and analytical requests, which requires a deep understanding of the operational needs, capabilities of existing systems and data sets in order to provide appropriate and sustainable business solutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be an integral member of the Planning Tool Replacement Project to deliver the best practice FP&A solution to align with FHF strategy of ‘Optimise delivery through effective and efficient operations – Transform our business systems and processes to deliver with agility’.
- Financial and non-financial data infrastructure and systems – collaborate with cross-divisional teams to understand existing data infrastructure, planning and reporting processes, identifying dependencies and integration opportunities.
- Business module design – work closely with Finance team members and divisional stakeholders to design, configure, develop and implement business modules within the new planning tool, ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications to ensure alignment with the overall project goals, ability to provide training and troubleshooting for stakeholders.
- Primary point of contact for inquiries and issues related to the new planning system to promptly troubleshoot and resolve the issues and effectively communicate the outcomes; collaborate with the IT team to maintain data integrity and system functionality.
- Assist in change management process including communicating system updates and functionality changes to end-users, develop and deliver training materials to ensure effective system adoption.
- Support and drive a business partnership approach by ensuring a culture of accountability, responsiveness, engagement, collaboration and empowerment
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
- Tertiary degree in Technology or Finance or equivalent experience
- Advanced Excel skills including VBA, Macro, Power Query
- Intermediate SQL skills
- Financial modelling using Excel syntax
- Experience with FP&A software and/or financial reporting tools
- Strong experience in Data Analyst position
- Strong experience in business planning and/or FP&A tools and techniques
- Strong experience with Financial Modelling and data visualisation or BI tools
- Strong experience with business requirements, system selection and solution design
- Familiarity with data science concepts and tools
- Excellent system and process knowledge to ensure alignment between systems, processes and people within the desired to-be organisational design state
- Strong communicator with good business acumen and presentation skills
- Proven experience working an agile environment as part of a multi-disciplined team and can self-lead and manage time effectively
- Well-developed problem-solving skills and can apply sound judgment when proposing solutions
- Passionate about improving processes, learning and implementing new technology and leveraging digital applications
