- Post-secondary degree in Public Administration, Intergovernmental Relations, Political Science, Natural Resources or a related field
- Experience working with First Nation Final Agreements and/or Self-Government Agreements
- Experience advising stakeholders on policies, program delivery, and advising regarding intersection of federal, provincial/territorial, and Indigenous governance systems
- Experience with community engagement strategies and practices in the context of Indigenous governance
- Experience in government-to-government negotiations and/or consultation will be considered an asset
Candidates who have considerable related work experience, equivalent to the education will be equally considered.Desired Knowledge, Skills and SuitabilityCandidates should have, and may be assessed on their:
- Understanding of First Nations values, traditions, and beliefs
- Knowledge of land claims processes and mining, land use and environmental issues
- Interpersonal, communication (written/oral), organizational and analytical skills
- Conflict and problem resolution skills
- Ability to assess challenges, exercise effective problem solving and decision making skills, and initiate solutions
- Ability to work independently
- Strong computer literacy, including MS Office suite
Additional InformationConditions of Employment:
- Valid Yukon Class 5 Driver’s License.
Job Requirements(s):
- Candidates must have the ability to travel throughout the Yukon and stay overnight in communities as required.
Expected salary
$85225 – 98818 per year
