Stage Picture:brenntag_other_10.jpgJobTitle:Fleet SupervisorLocation:Blackfoot/CanadaEmployment Type:ArbeitnehmerFleet SupervisorOur team in Blackfoot currently has an opening for a Fleet SupervisorYOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIESJob Summary:The Fleet Supervisor is responsible for organizing and executing the daily delivery objectives for the multiple sites by coordinating the scheduling and routing of Driver routes. The Supervisor works closely with the all the site Operations teams to ensure all loads are coordinated, company resources are optimized, and customer needs are being fully met and/or exceeded. The Supervisor is responsible for working with Drivers to ensure 100% compliance with Transportation Safety Plan policies and procedures and providing coaching and performance management to Drivers accordingly.Description:
- Manages Drivers to ensure they are operating in the most safe and effective manner and are compliant with transportation legislation and company policies and procedures. Provides coaching and performance management to address non-compliance, and safety or service issues.
- Leads and coordinates all team members and resources involved in the daily pick-up and delivery of freight, including
- Dispatchers, Drivers, Third Party Carriers.
- Ensures regular communication with Drivers to keep apprised of Driver locations.
- Oversee the compliance of truck inspection, licensing, registration, and coordinates trailer maintenance to ensure 100% on time maintenance compliance.
- Ensures the Collection, audit, filing of internal paperwork from Drivers (PODs, fuel slips, maintenance records).
- Ensures pre- and post- trip ( DVIR’s ) filing of tractor and trailer inspection paperwork and maintenance files and invoices are filed on the shared drive.
- Provides a daily exceptions report to General Manager during morning huddle, sharing all on time and late departures.
- Ensures daily management by walking around in completed, complete review of fleet equipment in yard.
- Manages fleet invoices including third party carriers, including auditing and coding fuel bills, trailer rental bills, trailer wash bills, tractor lease bills, and fuel bills.
- Updates and maintains accuracy of all data on internal fleet shared drive, such as hours of service, Routes, Kms and equipment used .
- Recommends continuous improvement efforts and identifies cost saving and growth initiatives.
- Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with the company vision, mission, strategy and culture.
YOUR PROFILEEducation and Experience:
- 2-3 years’ experience working in a supervisory role in a transportation environment.
- Experience working with company drivers, third-party carriers.
- Post-secondary education in Transportation, Operations, Logistics, or related field.
- Excellent customer service abilities with a natural desire to provide exceptional service and build strong relationships with Drivers.
- Proven analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to quickly understand and identify issues and propose solutions.
- Proven ability to effectively prioritize work flow to ensure deadlines are met in a fast-paced environment. Able to adapt to shifting priorities.
- Analytical; logical thinker with ability to think two steps ahead and successfully analyze different pieces of information and put them together like a puzzle.
- Ability to provide exceptional team leadership, including coaching, mentoring and engaging employees to bring out their very best work on the job.
- Ability to recognize unique strengths and talents in each team member, and coach and develop employees to grow and encourage strengths, and put development plans in place to address areas for improvement, if required for the job.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Dedicated to continuous improvement and ability to identify opportunities to increase efficiency and enhance results.
- Ability to manage and adapt to change.
- Approachable, positive demeanor with a hands-on and team-oriented work style.
- Knowledge of the logistics, supply chain and/or transportation industry preferred.

- Experienced working with an SAP (ERP) software
- Experienced working with a TMS ( Blue Younger ) Transportation Planning System software and or similar software programs is an asset.
- Microsoft Office skills with an emphasis on Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Working knowledge of labour management, transportation, financial and other key technologies.
