Primary Duties and Responsibilities: |
Reporting to the Senior Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, the Foundation Relations Coordinator supports all foundation relationship-building and foundation fundraising efforts across the University through funder research, proposal development, pre- and post-award grant management, and donor stewardship. This position supports all foundation relationship-building, reporting, coordination, and fundraising efforts across the University. Assists the Senior Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR), faculty, and University leadership in researching, developing, and submitting grant proposals in compliance with sponsor, University, and federal guidelines and deadlines. Supports the Director of CFR in receiving and assessing all foundation outreach requests from across the University to ensure alignment with institutional philanthropic priorities. Works directly with external funding agency representatives to identify proposal requests, application timelines, and proposal processes. Interfaces with internal partners to ensure a superior level of grant stewardship, including budget management, monitoring grant and contract compliance, and preparing and submitting grant reports. Maintains foundation and grant documentation and constituent data in the University database. Essential Job Functions: Foundation prospecting and research: · Provides project management support to the Sr. Director of CFR in identifying and maintaining a current list of university funding priorities · Conducts extensive research, using various tools and resources, to identify potential foundation funding opportunities · Communicates funding opportunities within the development office and across the University · Compiles foundation prospect lists for development officers and university leaders Grant proposal development: · Assists the Sr. Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations in receiving and assessing grant proposal requests submitted by campus partners · Supports Sr. Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations in writing and editing letters of intent, applications, grant narratives, budgets, and other grant materials · Coordinates with campus partners to ensure adherence to grant submission criteria and timelines Foundation donor stewardship: · Works with funders and campus partners to ensure post-award compliance with all grant and contract requirements, including tracking budget expenditures, documenting grant activities, and identifying grant outcomes · Develops grant report narratives and coordinates with campus partners to ensure all grant reporting requirements are met on time · Supports Sr. Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations in developing meaningful ways of communicating the impact of grants to funders and the broader community · Manages donor database, including the creation of contact records, maintenance of constituent contact information, and archiving of proposals and award letters Other duties: The above statements describe the job’s essential responsibilities and requirements. Minimum Qualifications: · Expertise in both pre-award proposal development and post-award grant management processes · Exceptional writing skills (writing sample required) · Ability to manage donor databases and records · Superior organizational skills with demonstrable experience in monitoring grant quality control · Knowledge of and familiarity with using foundation and grant research tools · Ability to compile research, connect research to current funding priorities, and quickly present grant opportunities to university leadership · Advanced proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) · Proven ability to manage multiple projects at one time · Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural competence · Effective interpersonal communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple groups of partners · Experience working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to respond to high-pressure situations. Ability to thrive in an environment of hard work · Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community |
Required Education | Qualified applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. |
Required Experience | Grant development and management experience in a university or nonprofit setting is preferred. |
