Hiring for the role will begin later this year.Join Us as a Founder in Residence in ClimateAt DSV, we are always on the lookout for entrepreneurial individuals with technical and commercial domain expertise with a keen interest in founding, and building a global scale, impact-driven, high-growth company from the ground up (full-time).We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced industry, startup, and/or new science or engineering-based technology development professionals from anywhere in the world to work with us on addressing the global toxicity challenge.The Opportunity Area (OA): Towards Zero ToxicityThe intersection of human health and toxic chemical exposure has become a critical area of concern. Toxic chemicals, prevalent in consumer products, industrial waste, and agricultural practices, pose significant risks to respiratory wellness, reproductive health, endocrine systems, neurodevelopment, and more. These substances, including PFAS, bisphenol A, organochlorines, flame retardants, phthalates, and various pesticides, have been linked to a range of health issues such as cancer, neurodevelopmental disorders, metabolic dysfunctions, and respiratory diseases.Our ApproachWe’re currently building an , working backwards from the desired high-level outcomes:

• Detecting a broader range of toxic chemicals at lower concentrations;
• Creating safer chemical substitutes, promoting transparency of research findings, and implementing market mechanisms to incentivize reduced emissions;
• Innovating and disseminating effective technologies for environmental remediation, such as bioremediation, phytoremediation, chemical remediation, physical remediation, advanced oxidation processes, and nanoremediation;
• Developing therapies that prevent, treat, or cure disease in toxin-exposed individuals.

RequirementsWho Should ApplyMost suitable candidates will likely meet multiple of the following criteria:

• PhD or equivalent industry R&D know-how focused on environmental science, chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemistry, pharmacology, or a related field;
• In-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art (SOTA) technologies and constraints in at least one of the following areas: toxicology, environmental monitoring, and/or remediation technologies;
• Industry-specific know-how, commercial knowledge (e.g., strategic partnerships, manufacturing, procurement, etc.), and network within environmental health, chemical manufacturing or related industries;
• Experience in building and scaling new technologies from concept to demonstration;
• Experience in raising funds from early-stage investors/VC;
• Experience in building and scaling a high-growth enterprise (leadership/c-suite roles).
