About the role
The post holder will assist Internews Programme Officers in the administrative management of various donor-funded projects, including compliance with internal and donor policies and procedures, filing and general administration. The post holder must have the right to work in either France or the UK. Internews has offices in Paris (20th arrondissement ) and London (Angel Gate).
Roles and Responsibilities
·Support to Programme Officers in reviewing financial reports from sub-grantees, including but not limited to review of internal and donor compliance
·Vetting (eg. checking against international databases) of sub-grantees and suppliers
·Record keeping of relevant finance and administration documents, including documentation preparation for project audits as required
·General office duties; maintaining and organizing office operations, procedures and filing systems
·Other work as directed
Person Specification
Essential
·Technical post high school certificate (or higher) in Administration, Finance or other related subject
·Financial and/or administrative experience gained in a demanding and fast-paced environment
·Fluent English written and spoken skills
·Good organisational skills, the ability to prioritise and to meet deadlines
·Accuracy and attention to detail
·Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word
·Good interpersonal skills
·The ability to be flexible and adaptable, working as part of a small team
·Office management and coordination skills, including the demonstrable ability to work successfully with external stakeholders and vendors
Desirable
·Other regional language proficiency (eg. Arabic, Turkish, Farsi, Russian)
·An understanding of donor (eg. European Commission, Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency) rules and regulations
·International NGO work experience, or aspiration to work in the international NGO sector
·An interest in media & journalism, international relations and geopolitics
