The Opportunity: The implementation of SAP QM (Quality Management) has provided the business with an essential tool to support the Maple Leaf Foods Quality Strategy. SAP QM is used for the management of non-conformances, in-process and product quality monitoring and is an integral part of managing product quality and food safety holds.As a member of Food Safety & Quality Management Systems (FSQMS) team, the FSMA SAP QM Analyst will support the use of the QM system through data maintenance, ongoing analysis and continuous improvement activities. As part of the FSQMS team, the candidate will also be required to understand business processes and support system users in all quality and food safety related business processes. The role requires skills for effective performance in both team and independent work environments, within the framework of the Maple Leaf Leadership Values.Any MLF team member interested in being considered for this role are encouraged to apply online by March 11. Applications received beyond that date are not guaranteed consideration.Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life: The FSQA Analyst, SAP QM will be responsible for set up and management of all Quality Management (QM) checks in SAP for new and existing products, ingredients and packaging and maintaining the accuracy of the data in the system.In addition, the analyst role will be required to:

  • Develop and load of QM Checks to support the ongoing execution of FSQMS
  • Understand plant requirements and translate them into data load into SAP
  • Manage/Complete Engineering Change Requests (ECRs)
  • Monitor the use of the QM system including analysis of QM data in SAP, monitoring of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and take corrective actions as appropriate to ensure system and data integrity
  • Prepare reports at specified frequencies including Weekly Inspection Lot Conformance Report, Monthly Supplier Non-Conformance Report, and other reports as required
  • Support the QM Key User network
  • Train and coach business users on proper processes and SAP system use
  • Create training documents/cheat sheets/manuals to support education and knowledge transfer
  • Support development of new IS solutions for FSQA as a Subject Matter Expert
  • Troubleshoot existing QM processes and take corrective actions as needed
  • Assist in the rollout of new programs and processes, such as Mobility Deployment for FSQA, including on-site support to users

What You’ll Bring:

  • Process thinker with great attention to detail
  • Excellent computer skills including advanced Excel and PowerBI
  • University degree preferably in Science or Engineering
  • Experience with SAP, SAP Recipe Development (SAP RD) or SAP QM an asset
  • Experience with food manufacturing processes with good understanding of quality and food safety principles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication to address all levels in the organization.
  • Flexible, open-minded, willing to learn details of relevant business processes
  • Creative, organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of Six Sigma tools/methodology is an asset
  • Ability to Travel as required
