- To deliver a high standard of teaching and learning to all students.
- To thoroughly understand the partner University rules, regulations and academic standards and always ensure strict compliance to these standards.
- To ensure timely assessment and feedback to students within challenging and strict deadlines.
- To supervise student projects and dissertations in accordance with their needs.
- To provide learning support and studies advice to students, including the maintaining of e-learning resources.
- To contribute to personal professional development programme sessions, in accordance with business and student needs.
- To take up teaching and tutorial responsibilities for up to 18 hours a week and support any additional cover requirements if any. To prepare lesson plans, ensure complete documentation on teaching and student support including tracking student’s formative progression.
- To identify individual student’s learning needs (including special needs if any) and signpost for appropriate support arrangements.
- To take the responsibility as a Personal Tutor for allocated groups of students and take the responsibility for their support and progression through the course.
- To prepare and upload teaching and learning resources to online learning platforms well in advance to each session.
Other responsibilities for Module Coordinators
- The teaching hours will vary from that of lecturers.
- To lead and manage modules as required, coordinating a team of academics, if you are appointed as a module coordinator
- To engage and Liaise with the partner University so as to meet and exceed expectations.
- To work with other Module Leaders, Course Leaders and Academic Managers to ensure high standards of teaching and learning are continuously achieved across the programmes.
- To strive to enhance student success and satisfaction rates and contribute to institutional success and satisfaction.
- To undertake internal moderation and other quality assurance requirements
- To engage in scholarship and continually update your industry knowledge.
- To participate in staff development activities and the peer observation scheme.
- To flexibly adjust to emerging business needs, teaching across campuses and according to business needs
- To undertake regular monitoring of module performance, student progression, semester performance and annual programme review.
- To engage and achieve the academic benchmark set by the College.
· Any other duties that may reasonably be requested by the management team to meet specific academic and administrative requirements.
- Responsible for the daily functioning of the module allocated, including arranging standardisation meetings, Monitoring the timely completion of assessment and effectiveness of lecturers. Prepare grade sheets and submit them to UWL.
Essential Criteria:
- Qualified to Master’s degree level
- Relevant teaching experience in UK degree programmes
- Experience working within a similar organisation
Desirable Criteria:
- PhD or Professional Doctorate in a relevant subject
- Familiarity with research software and IT proficiency
- Experience as Module Leader
- Experience in curriculum design and evaluation
- Experience teaching Pearson qualifications
- Network with relevant employers and industry sector related to the specialism
- Experience of teaching at level 6 and/or M level
