Reporting To: Deputy Education Manager (Academic)IN SHORTMK College Group have an exciting new opportunity for a creative Maths Tutor, to join the team based at HMP Fosse Way, Leicester. (Maths will be offered from Entry level to Level 2)As a Maths Tutor, you will be actively engaging prison-based students with creative classes and
resources. Many of the students have a diverse range of needs and learning abilities, they will often have had
a negative experience with education. As a successful Maths Teacher, you will truly inspire them and provide
students with a positive learning experience.This role may involve outreach work outside of the main classroom setting. You will be connecting with students in a professional manner, supporting them with their learning, enabling them to achieve success through not only qualifications, but developing the confidence and softer skills that they can apply to employment as well as other areas of education. You will also have the opportunity to create your own scheme of work and session plans, where you will be given time to create them, working alongside the advanced practitioner for advice on quality.We are seeking an individual who can communicate well with students to inspire and motivate them. The
average class consists of 12 students, supported by a student mentor and inclusion practitioners. The sessions are approximately 3 hours long. Your lessons will need to be adaptable, innovative, and imaginative.MK College will treat all applicants fairly and with respect, irrespective of their background, disability or any other individual characteristic. ABOUT HMP FOSSE WAYHMP Fosse Way is a brand new, purpose built Resettlement Prison based in the Glen Parva area of Leicester. The prison is operated by Serco with Milton Keynes College as their strategic education provider. We are recruiting for talented and creative professionals to join the new Education team based in the prison, with education being delivered Mon-Fri between 8:10-16:40.Due to HMP Fosse Way being brand new, education staff benefit from working in a new prison with up to date facilities, new resources and equipment. You are able to access the prison gym free of charge, as well as free lunch being available to staff on site.
