Fundraising Development Officer

About the role

We are looking for a Fundraising Development Officer to join us and contribute to the ongoing growth of the Trust. Working with the Senior Fundraising Officer and colleagues across the Trust, you will help develop funding opportunities, build relationships and find new and creative ways for people and organisations to support our work.

A key part of the role will include researching and developing applications to trusts and foundations, but we’re also looking for someone who can help us grow areas of fundraising that have lots of potential. This could include developing our community fundraising, creating new fundraising events and activities, expanding opportunities for supporters to engage with our work and sensitively developing in-memory and legacy giving.

About you

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, proactive and creative with relevant experience and a desire to be part of a team delivering real change. Can you find and share compelling stories that evidence the difference supporters make and the impact they will continue to have.

You’ll need great communication skills, strong organisational ability and at least 12 months relevant experience. You don’t necessarily need to have followed a traditional fundraising career path – experience in fundraising, income generation, relationship development, community engagement or a related area could all be relevant.

Most importantly, you’ll bring enthusiasm and the drive to develop and deliver new fundraising opportunities while building on the strong practices already in place to help raise funds for nature throughout Worcestershire.

We are Worcestershire’s leading nature conservation charity, committed to protecting wildlife and the natural environment. We are supported by over 21,000 individual members. Our 40 staff are supported by our 500 volunteers who are vital to the delivery of our work. We manage 75+ nature reserves across the county, covering 12.5 square kilometers of land, and provide land management advice across around a quarter of Worcestershire. Inspiring people to take action for nature is central to our work, from schools and youth groups to communities and local businesses.

This is a full-time, 35 hours per week, permanent contract. We will consider part-time for the right candidate (minimum of 21 hours per week/0.6FTE). The role is based at Worcestershire Wildlife Trust’s offices at Lower Smite Farm, Hindlip, Worcester WR3 8SZ with hybrid working available up to 40% WFH when appropriate.
