The Fundraising Intern will support Trees for Cities’ fundraising activities while gaining practical experience across corporate partnerships, trusts and foundations, major donors and supporter engagement. You will help research potential supporters, prepare fundraising communications and applications, maintain accurate records, respond to enquiries and support events, donor visits and corporate volunteering days. You will work with colleagues across the organisation and receive guidance and mentoring from experienced fundraising professionals.
This is a varied and supportive opportunity to develop transferable skills and begin a career in fundraising while contributing to greener, healthier and more resilient urban environments.
Trees for Cities is an ambitious, far-reaching organisation.
Trees for Cities is the only charity dedicated to improving lives by planting, protecting and promoting urban trees. We do this by working closely with communities, landowners, partners and funders to deliver transformational change in towns and cities across the UK and overseas. We plant trees in schools, streets, estates, parks and open spaces to create nature-rich urban woodland, hedgerows, orchards, avenues and playgrounds. We are a rapidly growing and developing organisation that suits ambitious, dedicated and passionate staff.
We’re looking for an organised, proactive and enthusiastic person who communicates clearly and enjoys working with others. You will be comfortable researching information, managing different tasks, meeting deadlines and paying close attention to detail. You will also be willing to learn, use your initiative and handle sensitive information professionally.
You do not need a degree or previous fundraising or charity-sector experience. We welcome relevant skills gained through paid work, volunteering, education, community activities, caring responsibilities or personal projects. You should be comfortable using standard IT systems and share our commitment to creating healthier, greener cities.

We aim to ensure that our employees achieve their full potential and that all employment decisions, including recruitment, are taken without reference to irrelevant or discriminatory criteria.
