Charity People are delighted to be working with the Foundation for Liver Research to find their very first Fundraising Manager and welcome in a new, pivotal era for this esteemed organisation.The Foundation for Liver Research (FLR) was established in 1974 to develop and extend research into diseases of the human liver.For over 50 years, the FLR has supported ground-breaking research programmes into liver disease including much of the early pioneering work at King’s College Hospital into liver transplantation and acute liver failure, under the direction of the charity’s founding Director, Professor Roger Williams.Since 2016, research has taken place within the FLRs purpose-built Institute, recently renamed The Roger Williams Institute of Liver Studies (RW-ILS).The RW-ILS represents a unique clinical academic partnership between the Foundation for Liver Research, King’s College London and King’s College Hospital that encompasses a multi-disciplinary team focussed on liver research and the improvement of outcomes for patients with liver diseases.

  • FT Salary – £44,501 to £48,134
  • 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Pension – a minimum employer contribution of 8% which increases based on a higher rate of personal contribution
  • Bespoke training and development support
  • Location – Hybrid, with one day per week in the office

The RoleThe successful postholder has an incredibly exciting brief: to take fundraising for the Foundation of Liver Disease to the next level, using their own expertise to identify key priority areas for growth, and building on their strong track record across Trusts and High Net-Worth Individuals. They will lead on the development and implementation of a new fundraising strategy in order to increase long term, sustainable charitable donations and deliver against ambitious research projects and academic opportunities.Ideal candidates will have a strategic fundraising mindset, be ambitious, adaptable, and open to collaboration across the charity including working closely with the COO, Trustees, and the Scientific Research Team.Candidates should be able to demonstrate:

  • An excellent track record of achieving fundraising success from multiple income streams (Trusts, Individual Giving, Major Donors, Partnerships, Events)
  • Experience of building engaging fundraising campaigns and working closely with comms and marketing functions to build strong narratives and cases for support
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage a variety of stakeholders and to communicate plans effectively and clearly to different audiences
  • Understanding the importance of a charity’s brand and marketing in relation to fundraising appeals
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to inspire different funders
  • A natural ability to network and build new relationships
