About the role
This role is an exciting opportunity to be directly responsible for enabling this growth,
building on our success so far and realising the potential of our strong brand and existing
relationships.
As Fundraising Manager, you will report directly to the Chief Executive and, together with her, you will lead the
development and delivery of our fundraising strategy.
Your key responsibilities:
- Develop Future Woodlands Scotland’s fundraising strategy and embed a culture of
fundraising across the organisation. - Oversee existing partnerships and donor relationships to maintain and grow long-term
support. - Identify and approach new potential donors, providing compelling cases for support.
- Support and enable the CEO, board and wider team to engage with potential funders and set
them up for success.
You are:
- An experienced fundraising professional, with a track record of developing and implementing
high value fundraising strategy. - Proven at growing an existing portfolio of trusts.
- Skilled in building a major donor programme.
- Successful in high-value fundraising (5-6 figures), including making successful
face-to-face asks. - Experienced in compiling and submitting successful applications to trusts, foundations,
major donors, statutory bodies, or relevant comparable private sector experience. - Demonstrable interest in Scottish nature conservation.
- Excellent at relationship management.
- Strong in negotiation and influencing.
- Experienced in creating stewardship events.
- Knowledgeable about GDPR and other fundraising regulations in relation to high-value
fundraising. - Excellent in communication skills, including fluent written and spoken English.
- Proficient in IT skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Enthusiastic, flexible and positive in your approach.
Interviews will be held on 9th September 2024 either in person in Edinburgh or online.
