The Opportunity

You will be part of dynamic, fast-paced and international humanitarian team that has a deep commitment to advancing the protection of women and girls in fragile and conflict-affected settings. We are proud of our work in this area, and have a strong track record in delivering locally-led, high quality specialised Gender-Based Violence in Emergencies (GBViE) programming that includes a core focus on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS). We believe in the importance of collaboration at all levels of the humanitarian system to support standard-setting. Trócaire is a member of the GBV Area of Responsibility, the Call to Action on Protection from GBV in Emergencies and the Irish Consortium on GBV.

You will report to the Senior Humanitarian Protection Advisor. The job opportunity will be offered on a full-time basis for a 2-year contract (subject to confirmation of donor funding). It can be based in Ireland, the United Kingdom or Kenya (note that the successful candidate must have an existing right to live and work in the relevant location).

We would love if you have demonstrated experience in delivering survivor-centred Gender-Based Violence in Emergencies programming, or Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in Emergencies programming, in line with international standards. You should have international experience, including working in fragile or conflict-affected states. We are looking for someone who is passionate about achieving gender equality and transformational change. We work in partnership with local organisations and are committed to supporting locally-led responses, including by women-centred organisations, so experience in this area will be beneficial.
