General SEN Support AssistantGeneral SEN Support Assistant – SeptemberMilk Education are recruiting for a purpose-driven, ambitious SEN Support Assistant to join a Primary School in Everton, Liverpool to work on a long-term basis beginning in September. This will be a full-time role working with KS1 and KS2 children with ASD and PMLD.You’ll be joining an inclusive and supportive school, focused on diversity and promoting a loving academic environment for those with additional needs.This is an exciting role for an experienced educator to join a fantastic school to support pupils in reaching their potential!What You’ll Be Doing in the Role:

• Provide tailored support to primary-aged children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), including one-to-one and small group assistance, following guidance from teachers and the SENCo.
• Assist with personal care and daily routines, including feeding, toileting, and hygiene, ensuring pupils are supported with dignity and respect in a safe, nurturing environment.
• Use a range of communication and learning strategies such as PECS, Makaton, and sensory-based activities to engage pupils, promote independence, and support their individual learning and development plans.
• Foster emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour, working collaboratively with school staff and external professionals to create an inclusive, supportive atmosphere that encourages social interaction and personal growth.

Essential Qualifications:

• Must have recent/relevant experience working with children and young people, specifically those with SEND.
• Must have a passion for education
• Must possess good numeracy and literacy skills
• Must have the ability to work under the guidance of the teacher
• Must have experience using Personal Care
