Geography Academic Mentor | LewishamA high-achieving Secondary School in Lewisham are looking to set up interviews with Geography Academic Mentor who can confidently support 11-16-year olds from September.Initially offering one-year contracts, this Geography Academic Mentor role will prove to be the perfect stepping stone for aspiring Geography Teachers. It is also ideal for a Geography Graduate who is looking for a positive way to utilise their subject knowledge and ‘give back’ and positively impact their local community.Geography Graduates who are passionate about education and hold a 2:1 or higher degree from a top UK University are encouraged to apply.Geography Academic Mentor – Lewisham

• Successful, high achieving Secondary School in Merton
• £85 – £100 per day
• September 2024-July 2025 [initial year-long contract]
• Supporting Years 7-11 within Geography lessons
• Leading 1:1 tutoring sessions
• Delivering small group intervention sessions
• Helping students feel prepared for GCSE exams

We are looking for assured, ambitious and enthusiastic Geography Graduates to work as an Academic Mentor within Geography. Students at this school are very well behaved and attentive in their studies, they have high expectations for themselves and are fully engaged with school life.As the new Geography Academic Mentor, you will be given your own classroom to tutor small groups of students across Years 7-11. These intervention groups will be decided by the Head of Department for Geography and will consist of students who have been identified as needing additional support.This Geography Academic Mentor role would perfectly suit a Geography Graduate who is considering a career within Geography Teaching but wants to gain a solid amount of school experience before applying for Teacher Training.We are dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. You will have a safeguarding responsibility if appointed. The successful candidate will be subject to enhanced clearance through the Disclosure and Barring Service and employment will be subject to references.
