Start Date: ASAPKey Responsibilities:

  • Delivering Engaging Lessons: Planning and delivering geography lessons that are creative, student-centred, and aligned with the curriculum.
  • Student Development: Supporting students’ personal and academic development through individual feedback, assessments, and additional support where needed.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Monitoring student progress, setting targets, and using formative assessments to guide teaching and ensure all students meet their full potential.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with the rest of the geography department and wider staff team to deliver cross-curricular projects and ensure a holistic educational experience.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) with a passion for geography and teaching, unqualified teachers are welcome to apply!
  • A strong understanding of geographical principles and an ability to bring real-world examples into the classroom.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities.
  • Strong classroom management skills, creating a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment for all children.
  • Ability to differentiate lessons and provide tailored support to meet the needs of individual students.
  • Experience teaching geography at secondary level (KS3/KS4/KS5) is preferred, though newly qualified teachers are welcome to apply.
  • Enthusiasm for extracurricular activities and helping students explore geography outside the classroom.
