We invite you to consider the role of Manager of Flight Test and Instrumentation. In this position, you will lead a team of skilled and dedicated professionals in the fields of Flight Test and Flight Test Instrumentation. As the Manager of Flight Test and Instrumentation, you will guide your team in executing all Test and Instrumentation related activities. Your leadership will enable our two experimental aircraft to collect crucial data and conduct flight tests. These tests are essential for the development and certification of engine programs from both P&W and P&WC. You will report directly to the Director of Flight Operations. Your responsibilities include overseeing flight test campaigns, ensuring their successful execution, and maintaining alignment with organizational goals. If you’re passionate about flight testing and ready to lead a dynamic team, we encourage you to apply.What your day to day will look like?Manage the Flight Test and Instrumentation department to support all aspects of the Flight Test programs.Forecast future workloads, manpower, capital requirements, department, and project budgets.Manage test and instrumentation-related activities on an assigned FTBProvide coaching, feedback, and direction to help employees grow and develop to accomplish their duties.Supervise the servicing, testing, modernization, and calibration of mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment, including the Data Acquisition System (DAS), associated with the testing of engines mounted on a FTB.Plan and manage Flight Test support activities by ensuring maximum utilization and efficiency of equipment and manpower.Develop and adapt standard work processes for all facets of Flight Test data acquisition.Ensure the work performed by the Flight Test and Instrumentation team meets the highest standards for safety, quality, and ethics at all times.The tools you need to be successfulMust havesHas acquired at least 5 years of Flight Test experience or equivalent discipline in Program/Project management.Possesses the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure significant projects adhere to the plan.Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate in both English and French at all levels of the organization.Exhibits competencies in leadership, team building, program execution, and risk management.Drives ownership and responsibility, excelling in planning and organizing.AssetsKnowledge of P&WC EnginesKnowledge of Aircraft Maintenance.Experience and knowledge in Flight TestUnderstanding of large aircraft systems and operating principles.Knowledge of Data Acquisition Systems (DAS) and engine control systems used in P&WC or P&W test beds.Knowledge of CARsKnowledge of calibration, traceability, documentation requirementsLeadership, autonomy, passion, ability to take on responsibilityAbility to innovate, change status quo and improve the organisationExperience in selecting and developing talent to build and sustain a high-performance team.
