Corteva AgriScience has an exciting opportunity for a Human Health Risk Assessor within the Human Safety function. In this role, you will be part of a growing global team that is responsible for providing exposure and risk technical expertise for the registration of a diverse range of crop protection products, including foliar applied products, seed treatment and biologicals. The role further offers the opportunity to gain technical breadth through responsibility for both dietary and non-dietary exposure assessment on a global level. Working in multidisciplinary teams, solving techno-regulatory problems in a collaborative environment, and interacting with internal and external stakeholders are important aspects of this role.Responsibilities:

  • Conducts dietary and non-dietary exposure and risk assessments specific to regional regulatory requirements using predictive exposure models and information provided by regulatory toxicology and field residue teams.
  • Serves as a Subject Matter Expert in Human Exposure & Risk within global multi-disciplinary project regulatory teams to support the registration of active ingredients and formulated products.
  • Develops robust technical positions in alignment with regulatory requirements across the globe.
  • Participates in developing and maintaining global regulatory strategy for active ingredients, identifies techno-regulatory issues and data gaps, and makes recommendations for mitigating risk and higher tier data generation.
  • Maintains awareness of changing Guidance and regulatory requirements that may impact registrations.
  • Determines higher tier data needs and provides appropriate technical input for study design, interpretation of data and incorporation of results into risk assessment.
  • Ensures timely delivery of high-quality submission documents and provides post submission support to address questions raised by regulators.
  • Communicates information in a timely manner to relevant stakeholders, including other experts in Regulatory Sciences, functional groups and leaders, and project regulatory leader.
  • Leads or contributes to advocacy efforts with regulatory agencies, decision makers and policy influencers.

What expertise have you grown? What do you bring to the table?

  • Ph.D. (desired) or a Master’s degree in Exposure Science, Risk Assessment, Toxicology, Chemistry or another relevant scientific discipline.
  • Two or more years of experience in preparing expert reviews and Human Exposure Assessments (dietary and/or non-dietary) within the Crop Protection Industry is highly desirable along with knowledge of regulations for pesticide registrations. Individuals with similar experience in other chemical industry may also be considered.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical data and provide recommendations and implications.
  • Experience in pesticide field study monitoring will be highly advantageous.
  • Demonstrated track record of initiative, attention to detail and creative thinking.
  • Project leadership skills to coordinate multiple projects in a timely and effective manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to create and maintain collaborative and inclusive relationships and positively influence decision-making processes.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills that allow dissemination of complex technical information in a clear and concise manner, along with the ability to adapt to a variety of scientific and non-scientific audiences, internally and externally
  • Experience of working in industry associations and interactions with national or international regulatory authorities is desirable.
