The company was founded on May 29, 1933 and is headquartered in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.Job SummaryWe are seeking a Human Factors Specialist to join the This Company Loss Prevention organization (LP), which is the corporate safety organization within This Company. We provide both day-to-day in-field occupational and process safety support to This Company operations, as well as centralized technical support and consulting function. Our field offices are located in Abqaiq, Riyadh, Ras Tanura, Dhahran, Udhailiyah, Jeddah (including Yanbu and Jazan), and Tanajib. Through these offices, LP provides its services to all This Company facilities and departments that are located throughout the Kingdom. The primary role is to provides corporate support, consultation and solutions to drive high human performance of front-line workers by developing robust systems to manage human failure and prevent human-induced incidents. Use proven methods to drive a positive safety culture and instill safety leadership skills for critical company roles.Responsibilities:

  • Develop tools for incorporating human factors into qualitative and quantitative risk assessments, such as human failure analysis, safety critical task analysis, and Human Reliability Analysis.
  • Create tools to assess human performance in field activities.
  • Participate in incident investigations to review and analyze human performance issues.
  • Provide advice and validation on integrating Human Factors engineering into capital projects.
  • Advise on the design and management of operating and maintenance procedures to optimize human factors.
  • Develop systems and utilize expert methods to integrate risk-informed competencies.
  • Streamline critical communications for frontline workers.
  • Advise facilities on fatigue risk management and shift work schedule design.
  • Develop tools to verify safe manning levels, optimal workload, and allocation of functions.
  • Support efforts to manage organizational changes by developing tools and strategies.
  • Develop programs and strategies to promote and sustain a positive safety culture.
  • Implement proven methods to assess safety culture and implement targeted interventions.
  • Assess and enhance safety leadership competencies across all levels of the organization.
  • Integrate Human Factors thinking into daily operational and maintenance activities, including site inspections, work permitting, and pre and post-job briefings.
  • Develop communication materials, such as pamphlets, presentations, and videos, to promote understanding of human factors.
  • Provide training and awareness on various human factors topics.

Requirements:

  • This role required candidate to permanently relocate at Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial psychology, human factors, or ergonomics required.
  • Master’s and/or PhD in Human Factors, Ergonomics, or Industrial Psychology preferred.
  • Five years of Human Factors experience in the Oil and Gas industry, including work with International Oil and Gas Companies, Consultancy firms, or EPC companies.
  • Preferred certification in human factors, such as Certified Human Factors Professional (CHFP), Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE), Chartered Ergonomics and Human Factors Specialist (C.ErgHF), or European Ergonomist (Eur.Erg).
  • Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
