Graduate Maths Teaching Assistant – What You’ll Be Doing:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support to students in various maths topics, from algebra to calculus
- Assisting in lesson planning and delivery, ensuring students are engaged and motivated to learn
- Supporting students during class discussions, practice exercises, and problem-solving activities
- Helping students with revision techniques, exam preparation, and improving their mathematical skills
- Encouraging logical thinking, critical analysis, and a deep understanding of mathematical concepts
- Supporting classroom management and fostering a positive, focused learning environment
- Collaborating with the maths department and other staff to meet the diverse needs of all students, including those with additional learning requirements
Graduate Maths Teaching Assistant – What We’re Looking For:
- A 2:1 degree or higher in a maths-related subject (Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, etc.)
- A genuine passion for mathematics and a desire to inspire students to succeed
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly
- Previous experience in tutoring or educational support is desirable but not essential
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt your approach to meet the needs of individual students
- A proactive attitude and a desire to help students with both academic and personal development
- An interest in pursuing a career in education
