Overview

To address these challenges, UNDP seeks to engage two qualified and reputable Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), or National Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO), or Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) to implement targeted awareness-raising initiatives in the six counties of Central Equatoria State. These initiatives include community outreaches, school awareness programs, and radio programs such as talk shows, Public Service Announcements (PSAs) in collaboration with UNDP and strategic partners to improve knowledge, promote access to justice, and support vulnerable populations.

 

1. Objectives

The primary objective of this Call for Proposal is to identify two CSOs/NNGOs/CBOs with operational presence and proven capacity in Central Equatoria State to lead public awareness and information dissemination efforts in Central Equatoria State. These efforts will enhance access to justice and promote rights awareness among vulnerable populations in South Sudan.

The specific objectives of this Call for Proposal are as follows:

• Increase public awareness of GBV and Juvenile Court mandates, procedures, and available legal remedies.

• Build public confidence in the GBV and Juvenile Courts as credible, accessible, and survivor-centered institutions addressing gender-based violence and juvenile justice issues.
• Promote understanding of the rights of persons with disabilities, including legal protections and access to services, particularly woman and children.
• Strengthen community engagement in supporting survivors of GBV, including women, children, and persons with disabilities.
• Improve linkages between communities and justice/service providers to strengthen referral and reporting and other redress mechanisms.

3. Deliverables and Expected Results 

Each selected CSO/NNGO/CBO is expected to deliver the following output under the grant award:

 

Deliverables:

• Develop and disseminate culturally appropriate and inclusive awareness materials (e.g., banners, brochures, leaflets etc) by each CSO.
• Organize radio programs (six radio talk shows and broadcasts of 150 spots of PSA messages) via radio stations of wide coverage, six community outreach activities, nine secondary school awareness programs on survivor-centered approaches and the legal frameworks for GBV response, intersection of disability with gender and age, disability rights legal frameworks, etc.
• Engage with local leaders, justice actors, and service providers.
• Document and report impact activities and lessons learned monthly.

 

Expected Results:

• Increased knowledge among target populations on GBV and Juvenile Court roles and processes.
• Improved awareness of legal remedies available to survivors and children.
• Enhanced understanding of the rights of people with disabilities and available services.
• Increased referrals and uptake of justice and support services.
• Strengthened collaboration between CSOs, communities, and justice institutions.

Location

• The first grant will be awarded to one CSO to implement activities in Juba, Terekeka, and KajoKeji Counties.
• The second grant will be awarded to another CSO to implement activities in Lainya, Yei, and Morobo Counties.
