Background
NRCs Field Operations’ department (FO Department) overall global responsibilities include: a) global programme development and policy setting, b) overall preparedness and emergency response capacity, c) monitoring, assessment and start-up of new emergency programmes/country operations, d) strategic and operational direction on security risk management and crisis management and e) strategic development and oversight of regions, f) innovation and grants management of global projects.
This position will be a part of the Strategy, Innovation and Support (SIS) section in the Field Operations Department, where the position will work alongside staff with Grants, Finance and Project Cycle Management expertise, as well as Innovation, Strategy and administration focused staff. The position will work closely with the Corporate team in the External Relations department especially aligned to the LEGO Foundation grant, but also parts of the Global Programme Section and the Emergency Response Section also in the FO Department.
From March 2023, NRC will implement the LEGO Foundation project “Acute Humanitarian Response 2024-2026” providing first-line education response to displacement affected children which requires specific follow up and learning and where this position will play an important role to enable the project to be successful. The position will also support other projects as necessary and when possible, during the life cycle of the LEGO Foundation project.
What we are looking for:
The position will contribute to achieving quality programming by leading effective grants management processes across its portfolio but with a focus on the LEGO Foundation “Acute Humanitarian Response 2024-2026” project. The position supports budget holders to ensure donor compliance across the project portfolio, to support development of high quality and timely donor reports and other external products and to coordinate any project revision processes. The position is responsible for the completion of key mandatory activities under NRC’s Project Cycle Management (PCM) framework. The position will work closely with the LEGO Foundation extended project team across NRC, it will report to the Director of Strategy, Innovation and Support but with a technical line to the Grants Adviser in Field Operations department.
