Grants Officer – Research Operations, Services and Support Office

As Canada’s largest mental health care provider, the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health provides evidence to drive system and policy change through the implementation of innovations and novel service delivery interventions. The Research Operations, Services and Support (ROSS) Office is a central group within CAMH Research that provides administrative support to ensure that all research activities carried out at CAMH or by CAMH personnel comply with funder, governmental or institutional policies and regulations.Position Description:The ROSS Office is seeking a full-time, permanent, Grants Officer reporting to the Manager of Grants & Awards. This role is integral to the Grants & Awards team and works closely with scientists, research staff, and other internal stakeholders. The Grants Officer’s main responsibility will be administering internal funding competitions funded through CAMH Research Centers and large philanthropic gifts (e.g., CAMH Discovery Fund). This includes pre-award tasks (e.g., developing funding calls, serving as point of contact, assessing eligibility, assisting applicants, processing research approvals, coordinating review committees, maintaining internal webpages, etc.); award finalization tasks (e.g., drafting award letters, communicating competition results, coordinating with other ROSS teams, etc.); and post-award tasks (e.g., non-financial progress reports, administrative requests, tracking grant data, producing reports, etc.). The Grants Officer will also provide grant development support for other peer-reviewed funding agencies (e.g., reviewing applications and budgets), as well as other general accountabilities, including processing research approvals, maintaining internal web pages, preparing information for internal newsletters, and maintaining electronic grant and award databases. As part of this role, you are expected to review application materials containing sensitive and confidential information such as salary and stipends of scientists and staff within the research department. You will be required to handle sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner.
