Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: NON-COMPETITIVE QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor’s or higher-level degree in a human services field* *For the purpose of these qualifications, a degree in a human service field includes the professional disciplines of audiology, community mental health, nursing, nutrition, occupational therapy, physical therapy, psychology, rehabilitation counseling, vocational counseling, social work, speech/language pathology and therapeutic recreation (including concentrations in art, creative art, dance, drama, music, or physical education.) Also included are related academic disciplines associated with the study of human behavior (e.g., gerontology, human services, sociology, speech communication); or human skills development (e.g., counseling/guidance, education, human development.) Examples of non-qualifying degrees include but are not limited to: criminal justice, political science, liberal arts, and business.Competitive Qualifications:1. Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:The IES North Bailey Site supervisor is responsible for facilitating the mission of Integrated Employment Services (IES) by providing person-centered services and supports that develop, improve and maintain employability skills. The goal of IES is to assist each individual to reach their highest level of independence in the least restrictive work environment. Services are community-based across WNY in volunteer locations, classroom settings, and employment situations at businesses. Selected candidate will work with the Habilitation Specialist 2 to provide direct supervision of assigned staff in the provision of program services.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsibilities include coordination of staffing, communication with treatment teams, arranging for transportation, liaison with employers/volunteer agencies, Medicaid compliance. Attend Life Plan meetings and assist with the development of Staff Action Plans. Review billing documentation and facilitate timely corrections. Candidate will be knowledgeable in the Transformation Agenda, regulations, Audit protocols, ADMs, Policies and IES internal controls for CPV and SEMP in order to complete initial review of billing documentation. Train Job Coaches to complete corrections and followed. Asset to assist Job Coaches with computer skills.Supervision of Job Coaches including TIMES, SUR, evaluations, daily staffing, duty assignments, technical assistance and assisting with mandates as needed.Contribute to the IES leadership team at department meetings, planning sessions, and vocational trainings. Participate in continuous improvement workgroup and work with other IES Supervisors to correct identified vulnerabilities. Ensuring the operation of the site is in accordance with all applicable regulations, operating procedures, and individual safeguard plans. Contribute to training curriculums, activities and experiences for individuals to prepare for successful transition from volunteering to employment. Model and promote soft skills and work related etiquette. HELPS Program titles may be filled via a non-competitive appointment. This means that you do not need to take an exam to qualify, but you do need to meet the minimum qualifications of the title.If you are hired under the HELPS Program, you will be first be appointed as a temporary employee. In May 2024, if you are performing successfully in the position, your appointment will be changed from temporary to permanent non-competitive. Once you are in permanent status, your official probationary period will begin and you may take any promotion exam for which you are qualified. At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), employees hired under NY HELPS are expected to have their permanent non-competitive employment status converted to permanent competitive status.
