Newton Colmore Consulting
Job title:
Hands on Experimental Physicist – Instrumentation Systems
Company
Newton Colmore Consulting
Job description
A growing scientific instrumentation company, based in Cambridgeshire, are currently keen to recruit a hand on experimental physicist. When we say hands on we mean we are looking for people who have built experimental bits of scientific equipment from scratch rather then used computer programs to see if it works first. This is the type of role that will really appeal to engineering focused physicists who enjoy the challenge of creating new pieces of scientific equipment from scratch. You will focus on instrumentation systems that are used in the engineering and life sciences sectors. If you have a few years’ experience working on any of the following types of technologies we would be keen to hear from you; Microfluidics, electrophoretic, colloids, inkjet and other complex fluidic based technologies. We are looking for people who have a real passion for engineering and really want to push the boundaries of technologies. The type of people who do well in this type of role will be people who have had technical hobbies for years. Some of the people at this organisation have hobbies where they build engines from scratch, built a glider and other complex technical projects. You will have a strong understanding of the fundamentals as well as the complex engineering processes as you will have full responsibility of the invention and the improvement of complex systems and will be expected to be hands on at every stage of the projects. This is not the type of role where you delegate sections of the projects, this is something where you will get your fingerprints on every part of the technology and hopefully you will be proud to do this.It is expected that you will hold a 1st or 2:1 degree from a leading engineering or physics university. If you also hold a PhD this will be advantageous but not essential. We are open minded to your background so if you were originally working within a chemistry or biology field and transferred over to engineering and physics we will still be interested as the fluidics part of these projects transfer well across all the scientific fields. This is an already successful growing company that is developing into new areas, the growth potential of this organisation is unlimited meaning your career will develop with it. They like people from within the business to develop their skills and knowledge so continual training and development is on offer. Apart from the career growth and skills training you will be rewarded with an excellent salary, benefits package and relocation assistance (when needed). So, if as a physicist you want to be challenged and tested you need to apply now as I do not expect this role to be open for long. For more information please feel free to call Andrew Welsh, Director of Scientific Engineering recruitment specialists Newton Colmore, on 0121 268 2240 or make an application and one of our team at Newton Colmore will contact you.Newton Colmore is a specialist recruitment company within the Medical Devices, Scientific Engineering, Scientific Software, Robotics, Science, Electronics Design, New Product Design, Human Factors, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance and Field Service Engineering sectors.Physicist, Microfluidics, Electrophoretic, Colloids, Inkjet, Fluidics, Physical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Experimental Physicist, Prototype Engineering, Scientific Engineering
