IATA is more than a trade association; it is a vision of a better future for air travel.About the team you are joiningLed by the Director Flight and Technical Operations, the team is responsible for the development and roll-out of global standards, policies and positions papers related to the flight and technical operations area.The incumbent will be responsible to ensure IATA positions and policies related to technical operations area, and in particular our IATA aviation supply chain priority, are developed and coordinated internally and across IATA regions, such that the resources are used efficiently.You will work with a multitude of internal and external stakeholders and drive industry initiatives across international bodies. All members of the team have a direct interface with the International Civil Aviation Organization and other international bodies.What your day would be like
- Lead to the development of more data centric approach to detailing the industry supply chain challenges
- Support the development of appropriate training programs
- Help to identify other data driven programs, that are of core benefit to our IATA members
- Provide flight technical expertise to support our central and regional team’s requirements
- Assist the Head Flight Operations, in ensuring the efficient running of the technical operations area
- Provide the technical flight operations expertise as required to ensure that our members needs are represented in terms of sustainability initiatives
- Help coordinate our advocacy and collaboration with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), International Coordination Council of Aerospace Industry Associations (ICCAIA), Boeing, Airbus and others in relation to this technical operations area
- Identify and support the Director of Flight & Technical Operations to drive new initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, and sustainability, as well as to help identify commercial opportunities of value to our members and IATA
We would love to hear from you if
- 10 years’ experience as head of an aircraft maintenance operations, including significant experience in dealing with suppliers
- Knowledge and experience at designing and implementing aircraft maintenance programs
- Experience at implementing technical operations efficiency programs as well as knowledge of major aviation regulatory frameworks
- An appropriate aviation engineering degree or license
- The ability to drive collaborations and knowledge exchange across IATA, including our regions as well as with external partners is essential
- Excellent oral and written communications skills in English
