SAERI is looking for a Head of Business Development and Finance
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to focus on Business Development
and Diversification within SAERI and its subsidiary SAERI (Falklands) Ltd (SFL) as well as
maintaining SAERI’s good governance. SAERI and SFL have a desire to continue to grow to meet
increasing demands of applied research in the South Atlantic and beyond. The role will help to
drive growth and revenue generation through strategic business development initiatives.

The position is strategic and will focus on the Business Development of SAERI and SFL in order
to create opportunities for growth and development for science and research. The individual
will report to the CEO and work closely with the Group’s Leadership Team. This is an outward
looking position and its purpose is to stimu-late growth. This is a full-time position, within
the Executive of the SAERI Group. The post is based in Falkland Islands with some occasional
international travel.
Duties include:
- Responsible for Business Development and diversification particularly within SFL; including
profit and loss modelling to inform business ventures within SFL. - Head of Business Development and Finance will play a key role in driving business growth and
profitability. - Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and markets to drive growth and revenue.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, donors, partners and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of potential business opportunities.
Main Essential Criteria:
- A good University Degree in a Business / finance discipline or equivalent
- Proven experience in a financial management role, preferably in environmental consulting or
academic setting, demonstrating strategic thinking, leadership, and financial acumen - Strong knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations, with the ability to
interpret financial data, trends, and metrics to drive informed decisions - A good grounding in business planning and strategic development and excellent project
management skills
