We are looking for an experienced Head of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion to join our People and OD directorate.You will be an exceptional leader with the ability to drive forward our EDI agenda and support us to develop an inclusive culture.Reporting to the Associate Director of People and OD, we are seeking someone who is able to work both operationally and strategically, with the ability to effectively network and manage stakeholders.The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert in equality, diversity and inclusion, and act as an advocate for and influencer of, an inclusive culture.You must have significant experience of delivering and co-ordinating EDI programmes in complex and challenging environments including advising at executive level and have in depth knowledge of current equality legislation. You must also have excellent interpersonal, influencing and communication skills.In addition to the above you will be a creative thinker with strong communication skills, robust project management skills, including being confident in analysing data, reporting and managing risk and issues and able to work flexibly under pressure and meet deadlines.Main duties of the jobLead the development and implementation of a collaborative equality, diversity and inclusion strategy and associated delivery plans/policies, which identify the importance of intersectionality in delivering EDI and the value of hearing and acting on lived experience.Provide strategic direction, leadership and advice across the broad portfolio of the EDI agenda within the Trust, whilst maximising opportunities to work across all of the ICS partner organisations.Act as the subject matter expert and specialist advisor to the Trust on the range of EDI areas, researching and keeping up to date with all legislative requirements, best practice NHS and other relevant sector-specific initiatives.Lead the development of programmes of work, strategies and interventions to improve the experience and accessibility of all staff employed within the Trust.Work in partnership with the staff networks in the development and delivery of EDI interventions.Provide input and EDI expertise to the senior leadership team.About usThe Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT) is the main provider of Mental Health and Learning Disability services in Leeds.
